Team Bio
The 2021-2022 Nickel City Jr. Sons U18AA team comes into the OHF Championship tournament representing the NOHA. The team is made up of multiple areas within and around the City of Greater Sudbury. The roster is made up of 17 players and 2 goalies ranging in birth years from 2006 to 2004. It proves to be a relatively young U18AA team as it is made up of 12- 2006 born players, 5- 2005 born players and 2- 2004 players. The Jr.Sons have been tested multiple times in this Covid conflicted season as NOHA postponed all games for a 2 month period in the middle of the year. Ultimately cancelling over 9 regular season games and 2 tournaments. The Jr.Sons have 17 players affiliated with either AAA teams in the GNML or Jr.C in Orillia. The two lone players were left unaffiliated out of personal choice to concentrate on studies. Nickel City is also the only team with a female goaltender in the entire NOHA U18. The NOHA representatives are a resilient team, with several systems played by very intelligent and hard working individuals. NOHA is well represented with a team full of skill and grit as well as hard work. Both goaltenders ranked among the top 3 in league play for GAA. Five players ranked in the top 10 for the league scoring race on the season
